The essence of a friendship, you may ask?

It lays within shared experiences
…and individual experiences to share.
Perhaps it is in your private jokes,
Humor conveyed with only a stare.

Perhaps it is in the small gestures
A sentence or thought completed
Or maybe something of more worth…
Like being there when needed?
……
…And I really don’t have any talent for poetry…I think I just broke my brain with that....

Here is a sample of real talent....

The tree of friendship had me here
By strings of ropes to wipe a tear
Right at the roots I lost my stand
The tree of friendship took my hand

written by Crystal Pestana

...And from now on, I will leave the beautiful poetry up to Aaron and Crystal, who both hold great talent with words.

I was lucky enough, however, to get to know a bit more about the person who commissioned me and the two who hold this extraordinary friendship this commission meant to capture. Everything in this work is symbolic of their relationship, unique only to their experiences, their personalities….as every friendship is unique to those involved.

Anais Nin said it best, “Each friend represents a world in us, a world neither possible nor born until they arrive; and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.”

I hope I have done them justice with recreating some of their world…

awww...thank you...

It's a very interesting piece with all the elements you've worked into it. The wines in the front really give a good sense of depth, but with the sombre colors of the picture the flowers tend to take over, which is a shame considering there's so much to look at in the picture. The grass on the far side of the lake would probably look better with some touchups at the moment it looks rather flat. The face in the tree is a nice touch.

The trees, flowers, and other little details such as the fabric in the picnic basket really stand out to me and are well done. Overall, the image makes me think of young love, friendship, and imagination. Good job. :)

The face in the tree is nice looking, and I like the use of colour.

I've often thought that girls who love yaoi were closet lesbians to the same effect that if a guy liked watching two butch hairy women make out.

The face took me a whole weekend, lmao! Do you think that the flowers match the overall color?
